They are part of an orb challenge where the lizards will hatch from eggs and and try and eat the [[Cavemen]] and [[Spyro]] must kill them before they do. They can be killed via fire breath. On the start screen one appears chasing a [[caveman]] before banging into the sign saying ''Spyro 2'' and being knocked out.
