However, the elemental dragon has different horns than Cynder's adult form, as well as having a different tail blade. It is likely that the elemental dragon is a female, due to its body resembling Cynder's adult form. No male dragon in the Legend of Spyro series has a similar body shape to Cynder's adult form.
The Elemental Dragon changes color, thus can only be killed by the element of the same color.
