The Grublins are the servants of Malefor. They first appear in The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon.
They serve as soldiers for Malefor's dark forces, and are replacements for the apes. Like the Apes, there are a variety of these forces: the smaller common variety, and the bigger Chief Grublins. The chief grublins are the big ones, the small ones surround you and defeat you... they can burrow underground and carry spears. Some Grublins however, look like mutant flies. Also there are two different kinds of Grublins one looks more like a bug and has wings, while the other kind is like the one in this picture. Their first appearance is in the ruins of the Mountain of Malefor where they released and chained Spyro and Cynder with a magical tether before dragging them away to the Catacombs to be sacrificed to the Golem.

Trivia
- Their names are a pun on the word 'goblins' and 'grubs'.
- Coincidentally, a common enemy from the Banjo Kazooie series is called "Grublin" as well.
