Template:Characterbox Elite Enemies are optional adversaries in The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon that are stronger than the normal enemies.
Risen from the ranks of Malefor's Grublin army, they have been fused with magical armor that gives them extra strength and renders them impervious to nearly every attack. The armor isn't completely foolproof however.[1] While wearing the helmet, Elite Enemies can only be hit by the elemental breath attack of the same color the helmet wields. The helmet will eventually fall off, making the enemy subjectable to all melee and breath attacks.
There are a total of eight elite enemies in the game. They usually come after big battles and also award 10,000 XP for you. The Elite Enemies also usually have something special after you kill them like a life, mana crystal, or a blue Spirit Gem cluster.
You can find the Elite Enemies in these areas of the game:
- The Catacombs x1
- Twilight Falls x1
- The Valley of Avalar x1
- Ruins of Warfang x1
- The Dam x1
- The Burned Lands x1
- The Floating Islands x2
