Crash Bandicoot
Crash Bandicoot is the primary protaganist in the Crash Bandicoot series. He is a genetically-advanced Eastern Barred Bandicoot who lives the life on N. Sanity Island. Throughout the series Crash will usually have to defeat his arch-enemy Cortex in order for his life to return to normal. Crash is often accompined by his ally Aku Aku.
Background
Crash Bandicoot first started his adventures after the evil Dr.Neo Cortex kidnapped his love and tossed Crash out of his Castle. Thus forcing Crash to set off on an adventure to find his girlfriend, and put an end to Cortex all at once. After a few run-ins with Cortex's minions, Crash found his beloved defeated Cortex and save the world. But little did he know that Cortex would return...
After the events of the first game, Cortex was seen crashlanding into a cave of magical artifacts called "Crystals" he would use their energy to power a machine known as the "Cortex Vortex" and enslave humanity. But according to his new henchmen N.Gin, he had only found the "Master Crystal" and also needed 25 "Slave Crystals" for the laser to be in it's full effect. Cortex had only one resource to call upon, his old nemisis Crash Bandicoot. Who was resting peacefully with his new ally and sister Coco Bandicoot, when her battery died she then told Crash to go bring her a new one. Crash ventures foruth to find her battery when a light swallows him up and transport him to a room with "5 warp like tunnels", then a voice starts to speak. Cortex then persuades Crash to bring him the crystals, Crash unaware of the situation go and search for the crystals battling new foes along the way. But before Crash can hand Cortex the remaining crystals, Coco hacks the system and tells Crash the truth. Cortex's plot is exposed he then tries to flee in space, but Crash stops him by spinninng crater-like boulders at him. Ending with Cortex failing once again and Crash saving the world with the help of Cortex's old college Dr.Nitrous Brio to finish off the Cortex Vortex with the remaining gems Crash had collected.
In the closing of the trilogy Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped, an evil spirit named "Uka-Uka" was awakened from his underground prison due to one of the destroyed peices of the Cortex Vortex crashing into it. He then hired a time-twisting genuis named "N.trophy" to travel back in time to find the crystals before Crash was even born. When Aku-Aku found out about this, he sent Crash & Coco to retreive the crystals before Cortex and his minions does. When Crash and Coco collected all the remaining crystals, it was time to do battle against Cortex and his "newfound master" Uka-Uka. When Crash defeated the duo, Cortex was looking towards retirement while Uka-Uka still had his vengance in mind. Aku-Aku then suggested that Crash and Coco went back to collect the remaninig Gems and Relics before Uka-Uka could retrive them. Once their task was completed it was time to do battle one last time, Crash and Aku-Aku teamed up and deafeated Cortex and Uka-Uka while the time-twister imploded. Aku-Aku used his magic to warp Crash and Coco to safety right before the implosion caught them. And those who was caught in the implosion (Cortex, N.Trophy, Uka-Uka) was trapped forever in time as babies. Except Uka-Uka who was reduced to a child's play thing by the two infant doctors.
The Clash of Heroes
Near the beginning of Crash Purple: Ripto's Rampage, Spyro mistakes Crash as one of the Riptocs that's been terrorising his homeland. Due to that misunderstanding Crash and Spyro due battle on brigdes in the theme of their world, (depending on which game you have) it determines the outcome of the fight. After their duel Spyro notices something rather "odd" about Crash's shape. Aku-Aku (Crash's ally), explains their situation and denies any affiliation with creatures that's been roaming about. Spyro that point on teams up with Crash, and decides it's time to take down Cortex and Ripto together.
