LightCore Skylanders are Skylanders whose figure has a light-up effect when placed on the Portal of Power.

Gameplay

When a LightCore Skylander is placed on the Portal of Power, they create a Flash Bomb that is used to wipe out all enemies. The flash bomb can be used only once per LightCore Skylander in a chapter. 

However, the Flash Bomb does not always wipe out all enemies. Stronger enemies, such as bosses and evil versions of Skylanders, are not wiped out right away. Inhuman Shields are also immune to the LightCore power if the shield is in front of them.

In the 3DS version, the LightCore flash bomb effect can be used when switching to the LightCore Skylander. However, this effect takes time to recharge between uses.

Giants, despite having light-up effects, are not considered LightCore since they do not have the flash bomb power..
