Dark Armies

The Dark Master's Army seems to be an alliance of several races, the Apes may have been the first race to be loyal to him, however it was later revealed that they weren't truly loyal to Malefor since they only served him for their greed and thirst for power. The Apes were later punished by their master, who turned them into Shadow Apes.

The races of this dark alliance included the corrupted spirits of the deceased who were freed from the Well of Souls during the Night of Eternal Darkness. In The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon, a new race was introduced as Malefor's minions called Grublins, replacing the Apes.

The exact size of his army is unknown, it might been at its largest during the time Cynder was in Command, there is two reasons for this is possible:

• They may have been an arms build up due to their being no major war or threat to them.

• When the Dark Master returned he used more powerful beings then huge numbers, under the Apes.

Its territorial height may been under Cynder as much the World was under her control.
