'''Crush''' is a blue dinosaur in the [[Spyro (franchise)|''Spyro'' franchise]]. He is one of [[Ripto]]'s two bodyguards, the other being [[Gulp]].

==Characteristics==
Crush is a large, dim-witted, light blue dinosaur with a small pair of wings on his back. Some of his other bodily features include green eyes, a pair of horns, a stubby tail, and a visible sharp tooth sticking out of his mouth. Crush carries a wooden club with a large spike attached to it.

In ''[[Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!]]'', his first appearanceCrush is the first boss, and is fought at [[Crush's Dungeon]] in [[Summer Forest]] once Spyro has collected all the [[Talisman]]s in that world. Crush first appears in the intro alongside Ripto and Gulp. He is commanded by Ripto to kill whack [[Zoe]], but ends up hitting Ripto by accident instead. Later, when [[Spyro the Dragon|Spyro]] enters Crush's Dungeon for the first time, Crush is seen in a flashback scene where [[Elora]] tells Spyro about how Crush, Ripto, and Gulp ended up in [[Avalar]]. It shows that after [[Hunter]] entered his birthday as the coordinates for the [[Professor]]'s [[Super Portal]], Ripto enters Avalar, and both Crush and Gulp land on top of him. Crush tries to go through the portal by knocking on its side. As the [[Fairy|Fairies]] take off with the [[Orb]]s to scatter them throughout Avalar, Ripto commands Crush and Gulp to take the Orbs from them, but they are unsuccessful. During the battle in Crush's Dungeon, Crush has seven units of health. He attacks by stepping on platforms that shoot out either electricity waves or fireballs, and Crush sometimes also chases Spyro. After launching some projectiles, Crush attempts to hit Spyro with his club. If Spyro dodges it, several large boulders (or large bricks in the ''[[Spyro Reignited Trilogy]]'' remake) fall onto Crush.

In the original [[PlayStation]] version's epilogue, there is a graphic that shows Crush being educated by the Professor, who is pointing to a chalkboard that reads "1 + 1 = ?"

In ''[[Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly]]'', both Crush and Gulp return as Ripto's bodyguards, although neither of the two are ever fought as bosses. Crush, alongside Ripto and Gulp, interrupt an ongoing [[Year of the Dragon]] festival. One of Ripto's quotes reveals that he originally found Crush and Gulp living on [[Molten Crater]] where they were unemployed, and Ripto threatens to send them back if they keep thinking, as he did not hire them to do so. Later on, after Spyro completes [[Cloud 9]], a cutscene is shown where Ripto returns to his lair with Crush and Gulp, and it shows Crush being able to speak in full sentences unlike in ''Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!''. Ripto angrily asks Crush and Gulp where the [[Dragonfly|Dragonflies]] went, and Crush says that something went wrong with Ripto's scepter, causing the Dragonflies to be scattered all over. Ripto angrily shoots a bolt of electricity at both Crush and Gulp, knocking them over.

In ''[[Spyro 2: Season of Flame]]'', Crush is fought as the first boss, just like in ''Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!'', although he was given a purple body. Crush's [[portal]] is located in [[Sunny Plains]], and Spyro needs at least 22 [[Firefly|Fireflies]] to enter it. Crush is now fought in a volcanic area. Like in ''Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly'', Crush has the ability to talk in full sentences. Before the battle starts, Crush expresses frustration at Ripto for taking long to obtain the [[Gem]]s. In the battle, it is shown that Crush has the ability to spit ice balls at Spyro and jump high. If Spyro is hit by an ice ball, he freezes temporarily, and Crush hits Spyro with his club. To attack Crush, Spyro first has to pick up one of Crush's ice balls and then spit it out at him, freezing Crush's body temporarily. In doing so, Spyro then has to charge into Crush. He must repeat this step two more times to defeat Crush. Once Crush has been defeated, he gets upset over losing again, although he tells Spyro that he is too late at stopping Ripto, who has acquired nearly as many Gems as required to build a [[Ripto's Volcano|volcanic lair]]. After saying this, Crush vanishes within an explosion.

===''Spyro Orange: The Cortex Conspiracy''===

In ''[[Spyro Orange: The Cortex Conspiracy]]'', Crush is fought as the second boss alongside Gulp at the end of [[Arctic Cliffs]]. Crush retains his usual light blue coloration from his first two appearances, although his club does not have a large spike on it. The battle takes place within an icy cave, and while Gulp tries to shoot icy balls at Spyro, Crush sometimes charges on-screen holding a large, yellow shield in front of him. To attack Crush, Spyro must use his [[Horn Dive]] attack on him, making Crush temporarily dizzy, and trick Gulp into shooting an electric blast at Crush. After this, Crush runs off-screen, only to return a few seconds later. Once Crush has taken a total of three hits from an electric blast, he begins to run back and forth while holding his shield above his head. Spyro how has to use his [[flame]] to stun Crush, although this only remains for a shorter period of time, and trick Gulp into firing an electric blast onto Crush's shield so that it bounces back at him. The battle ends once Gulp has taken three hits as well.
