This article is about the main villain of the first Spyro the Dragon. For the name of the realm, see Gnasty Gnorc (realm).

Gnasty Gnorc is the leader of the Gnorcs. He is the main villain of Spyro the Dragon and a minor villain in Spyro: A Hero's Tail. He has a green body, armor and a mace that has magical powers. Between his two appearances, Gnasty Gnorc changed his clothing, gained electrical powers and began to lose memory.

History

Spyro the Dragon

In Spyro the Dragon, Gnasty Gnorc discovered a spell which allowed him to freeze all the dragons. He fired it from his mace after the Elder Lindar called him "ugly" in an interview. He tore open the Dragon Treasury in Dark Hollow and turned the gems into warriors. He then fled to his junkyard home, unaware that Spyro, the only dragon who was not frozen, had began rescuing his friends from Gnasty's spell. When Spyro reached Gnasty's World, the gnorc was rather pathetically defeated after two blasts of flame.

Spyro: Year of the Dragon

In Spyro: Year of the Dragon, Gnasty Gnorc is very briefly seen in the final epilogue after obtaining all 20 skill points. He is shown inside of a colosseum very similar to the arena where the Sorceress was fought with Ripto. There is a caption at the bottom of the picture that says "Gnasty Gnorc and Ripto hold a summit to discuss 'The Spyro Problem.'"

Spyro: A Hero's Tail

In Spyro: A Hero's Tail, Gnasty Gnorc is seen in the opening cutscene mining Dark Gems for his master, Red. The sinister dragon then seals Gnasty away in a cave, guarded by dark plants. They were removed when Spyro destroyed all the Dark Gems in the first realm and he defeated Gnasty, releasing the electric fairy Amp.

Spyro: Shadow Legacy

In Spyro: Shadow Legacy, although Gnasty Gnorc does not appear, he is mentioned in a few books in the Dragon's Arms Inn. Gnasty Gnorc is mentioned at the very start of the And Along Came Ripto book, and is mentioned throughout the Spyro's First Calling book, which chronicles the events of the first game, Spyro the Dragon.

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled

In Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, starting with the Spyro & Friends Grand Prix, Gnasty Gnorc appears as an unlockable racer. He has his own signature vehicle, the Gnasty Ride.
