Gnorcs are an orc-like species that appear in a few Spyro the Dragon games. They are the main enemies in Spyro the Dragon and Spyro: A Hero's Tail, and they are led by Gnasty Gnorc in both games. There are several variations of Gnorcs.

Gnorcs are humanoid creatures with pointy ears, crooked teeth, four fingers, three toes and dark tone spots. They appear in a variety of colors such as green, yellow, purple, blue, and pink.

History

Spyro the Dragon

In Spyro the Dragon, Gnorcs make up the majority of enemies. According to the game manual, Gnasty Gnorc created them from gems that he stole from the Dragon Realms. With them, Gnasty Gnorc would attempt to take over the Dragon Worlds. There are some types of Gnorcs who wear metal armor, which protects them from Spyro's flame attack, but they can still be defeated by his charge attack. Conversely, the larger Gnorcs cannot be defeated by Spyro's charge attack but only his flame attack. Large Gnorcs who wear metal armor cannot be defeated by either attack. Usually, when a Gnorc is defeated, they release gems unless Spyro has already collected them.

Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!

In Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!, Gnorcs do not appear as enemies. Instead there are friendly Gnorcs, known as Showman Gnorcs, who operate the Dragon Shores theme park.

Spyro: A Hero's Tail

In Spyro: A Hero's Tail, Gnorcs with their leader, Gnasty Gnorc, reappear as enemies and are under the control of Red. This time there are 3 types of Gnorcs, for example: A huge pink Gnorc which attack with ax & hammer, a middle blue Gnorc that attack with a sword and a small green Gnorc that shoot arrows. In each realms, the Gnorcs have have different outfits depending on where they are. After Red lose the battle, the Gnorcs are transformed into robots in Volcanic Isle by Red as a way to gain potential armor.
