Featured article Spyro: Season of Ice is a platformer game for the Game Boy Advance. It was developed by Digital Eclipse and published by Universal Interactive Studios in 2001 and Konami in Japan. The game is a sequel to Spyro: Year of the Dragon, and it would eventually receive two of its own sequels, Spyro 2: Season of Flame and Spyro: Attack of the Rhynocs. Spyro: Season of Ice is the first Spyro game that was not developed by Insomniac Games and the first to have been released for a handheld console. Did you know? The key artwork for Spyro: A Hero's Tail was designed by Drew Struzan, who also designed posters for the Star Wars films. Spyro: Year of the Dragon has an elaborate anti-piracy feature that significantly increases the game's difficulty. Elora would have reappeared in Spyro 2: Season of Flame, but was cut due to time constraints. In the first game, the gliding controls were programmed by a NASA rocket scientist, Matt Whiting.

June 9, 2021: Spyro, along with Dark Spyro, have been confirmed to appear in Crash Bandicoot: On the Run on Season 3, starting June 11. December 3, 2020: A revamp of Skylanders: Ring of Heroes has been released. July 21, 2020: An artbook for Spyro Reignited Trilogy, titled The Art of Spyro Reignited Trilogy, has been released. September 3, 2019: Spyro Reignited Trilogy has been released for Windows and Nintendo Switch worldwide. August 30, 2019: Spyro & Friends Grand Prix ran as a limited event for Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, and it introduced Spyro, Hunter, and Gnasty Gnorc as unlockable characters.
