Stone Age Speedway is a speedway level in Spyro: Season of Ice found in the Autumn Fairy Home. Despite its name, Stone Age Speedway does not take place in an ancient ruins; rather it occurs in a place appearing to be a volcano environment. Before he can access Stone Age Speedway, Spyro needs to have rescued at least 14 fairies. There are two fairies for Spyro to rescue, Sam and Peaseblossom, who can be rescued by clearing the Normal and Hard difficulty settings, respectively. Stone Age Speedway is separated into five different areas, each having their own set of obstacles. When Spyro begins the level, a timer at the top-right corner starts counting down from 1:10:00, and Spyro has to fulfill various objectives to increase the time limit and reach the end.

In the first area, Spyro has to fly through rings to increase the time limit, and some rings have a gem within them.

In the second area, bats begin to swoop at Spyro, and he can either dodge them or breathe fireballs at them. Spyro must defeat some yellow bats, as each one adds a few seconds to the countdown timer. Whenever Spyro defeats a blue bat, he earns a gem. Red bats do not yield any type of reward.

In the third area, there are different types of bats who quickly swoop in before making their way back off-screen. Like their regular yellow counterpart, these yellow bats also reward more time if defeated. Defeating the purple ones earns Spyro a purple gem.

In the fourth area, Spyro has to fly through large boulders that appear on screen. Some of them can be destroyed by Spyro's fireballs, which adds one second to the timer, although if Spyro crashes into a boulder, one second is taken away from the timer.

In the fifth and final area, Spyro has to fight the red Twin Dragon, who is separated into nine segments. Spyro can attack the Twin Dragon by firing at it. In doing so, the Twin Dragon loses one of its segments, gradually becoming shorter. Once the Twin Dragon is defeated, a yellow gem is released for Spyro to collect, and the level ends.
