Elemental Gates are optional obstacles in the Skylanders series. In Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure, they act as entrances to secret areas within each level. To open an elemental gate, you must have a Skylander of the same element as the one featured on the gate. To open it, walk into the gate and (for example) a bridge or gateway will appear. Elemental Gates appear in each level in the game, sometimes hidden.

Trivia

  • In Perilous Pastures, there is a place that can only be accessed by a Life Skylander, but there's no element marking the spot and there's no connection to be seen until the Skylander is put in the area. No other level in any of the games has this feature, other than water spots throughout Spyro's Adventure that didn't alter the existing terrain.
