Template:Characterbox Gear Grinders are enemies in Hurricos, a realm in Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!. They generally make life difficult for the Electrolls. There are at least two types of Gear Grinders, including the Gear Grinder Thieves. Gear Grinders usually attack by swinging their over-sized monkey wrenches at Spyro, and they can only be defeated by flame. The large Gear Grinders can also be occasionally seen cranking the key on their robots and unleashing them on Spyro.

- Gear Grinders might have been at least partial inspiration for Ratchet from the Ratchet & Clank series, as they hold a wrench and they are accompanied by the Gear Grinder Robots, which look similar to Clank. This would make sense, as Insomniac created that series and were the developers of the original three games in the Spyro series.
