Metal Vases are a fire-resistant type of gem-filled container that needs to be charged in order to be broken open and collect the gems inside. They appear throughout the Spyro series, and later made a re-appearance in Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure.
Some metal vases are wrapped in firework explosives, similar to the Explosive Chests. They need to be flamed in order to break them open automatically.
