Template:CharacterboxBasil, also known as Basil the Explorer, is a human character seen in Mystic Marsh in Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!. He'll give you an orb once you have collected four spark plugs for his jeep, which were stolen by Kangaroo Thieves.

Basil is one of the few characters in the entire Classic series who is a human.
He has the same character model and voice as the Mayor in Metro Speedway (found in a hidden area behind a waterfall) who challenges Spyro to help Hunter catch cat burglars.
In the epilogue for Spyro 2, Basil has compiled a catalog "Basil the Explorer's "Faunus Mortas" Extinct Creatures of Avalar", showcasing different designs of creatures not found in the game.
