Template:YoumayTemplate:Characterbox (Skylanders) Template:Q Zap is a blue water dragon who is one of the main 32 playable Skylanders in Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure.

Personality

Zap is a friendly and mischevious water dragon, being quite revered by the majority of Skylands' sea creatures who see him as a true dedicated guardian of both the seas and Skylands. He has a long running feud with dolphins due to the fact that he sometimes 'accidentally' shocks them, and enjoys racing, being able to outstrip almost any opponent.

Abilities

Zap can breathe blasts of electricity and spew electrical surges of water at his enemies. He can also leave a trail of slimey water behind him to slow down (and when hit by a spark electrify) foes.

Biography

Zap was born into the royal family of water dragons, but a riptide washed him to a distant sea, where he was raised by electric eels. Growing up, he excelled in everything and even created a special gold harness that allows him to carry an endless electrical charge and shock things at a great distance. Zap also proved to be a gifted racer, outstripping any opponent... with the possible exception of the dolphins. With them, it became a good natured challenge to see who could keep up with Zap. But an electric current in his wake often reminded them who they were dealing with. This causes Zap to have a long-standing fued with the dolphins, due to the water dragon regularly shocking them by accident when they ride the waves together, and the dolphins don't like it. In return, Zap takes offense when they suggest the shocks are no accident... although sometimes they're right! But despite these minor differences of opinions and his mischievous streak, Zap grew to be a true protector of the seas and of Skylands.

Role

Skylanders: The Beginning

When Kaos and his army were approaching, Zap was at the Core of Light with the other Skylanders to hear Spyro tell the news of Kaos returning to destroy Skylands. The water dragon then participated in the battle against Kaos' army with the other heroes. He is seen blasting away a group of Cyclopses with his electrical discharge before looking around for more enemies to fight. However, Kaos' army overpowers the Skylanders, allowing Kaos to destroy the Core of Light; its destruction blowing the Skylanders out of Skylands and into the void of space until they reached Earth, where they were turned into toys.

Trivia

  • Prior to his official name being revealed, fans who like Skylanders called Zap the 'Water Dragon'.
  • Zap's promotional art shows that his eyes are red, and they are orange in toy form, but in the game, they are yellow.
  • He is another playable character known to be raised by a different species, along with Spyro being raised by dragonflies in the Legend series, and Sgt. Byrd being raised by hummingbirds in the Classic series. Like Sgt. Byrd, Zap learned to use the abilities of his adopted family.
