Template:Youmay Template:Characterbox (Skylanders) Template:Q Whirlwind, formerly known by her testing name, Stormee, is a blue, unicorn-like dragon who is one of the main 32 playable Skylanders in Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure. Whirlwind is currently available exclusively in the stores of Target in the US and Australia, and in Tesco in the UK.

Personality

Having had a fierce youth, Whirlwind is pure of heart, protecting both dragons and unicorns despite the two species having shunned her. Growing up, she never fitted in with the dragons nor the unicorns, but she knew when to get away from the tension of the two species to find peace and quiet for herself.

Abilities

Whirlwind has the ability to shoot streams of rainbows from her horn at her opponents; which can also heal her allies if she gained her Soul Gem ability. She can also launch storm clouds at her enemies with a clap of her wings.

Biography

Whirlwind is an air dragon with unicorn ancestry – two species that could not be more opposite in nature, which made her never quite fit in with either group. Other dragons were envious of her beauty and grace, while her unicorn brethren shunned her for her unusual appearance and ability to fly. But Whirlwind found peace within the dark and stormy clouds, where she learned to harness the tempest power within her. Despite her turbulent youth, she remained pure of heart and was the first to defend both dragons and unicorns when the trolls began hunting them, unleashing her ferocity in a brilliant and powerful rainbow that could be seen throughout many regions of Skylands. From that day forward, evil-doers would quake when dark clouds brewed, and run from the rainbow that followed the storm.

Trivia

  • Before fans knew of Whirlwind's name, she was nicknamed as the 'Wind Dragon'.
  • Whirlwind's early promotional title in her Toy Fair 2011 debut was called 'Tempest Dragon'.
  • Whirlwind is the sixth female playable character in the Spyro series (the first being Sheila, the second being Cynder, the third being Stealth Elf, the fourth being Sonic Boom, and the fifth being Hex.)
    • She is also the second female playable dragon with different abilities than Spyro (the first being Cynder).
  • Most fans prefer Whirlwind's testing name, Stormee.
  • Some fans from the My Little Pony: Friendship of Magic fanbase think of Whirlwind as a possible rip-off of Rainbow Dash, a character from the fourth generation Pony series, due to Whirlwind having the ability to manipulate rainbows and storm clouds similar to Rainbow Dash's abilities, though Whirlwind has nothing to do with the My Little Pony franchise and isn't a pegasus.
  • Like Cynder, Whirlwind has no visible teeth. Incidently they are both the only dragon Skylanders in the game who are female.
