Dragon Guardian
Dragon Elders are dragons who responsible for a lot of things. it may be assumed that Ignitus, Volteer, Cyrill, and Terrador are Elders, as the other old dragons throughout the series were called this, but in the actual game, they are called "Guardians". Each is a master of an element.
The Guardian and master of Fire
Ignitus is the master of fire. He can do, or used to do, very VERY powerful things, but, as itis shown at the start of 'the legend of spyro: a new beginning' even doing a simple fury attack is difficult for him. His exact words are: "The older I get, the harder it gets to recover." And that is pretty weak, seeing as spyro can do a fury attack, and then, continue fighting right off the bat. (nothin bad towards Ignitus, we all know he's been through a lot!) Later in the series Ignitus dies while saving Spyro and Cynder.He is also seen as the father figure to Spyro and when Ignitus dies, Spyro is torn and goes to his dark form.He led the attack on the golem and the destroyer and helped give Spyro and Cynder time to flood the canyon to try to stop the destroyer from escaping and completeing the circle.
The Guardian and master of Ice
Cyril is the master of ice.
The Guardian and master of Earth
Terrador is the master of the earth.
The Guardian and master of Electricity
Volteer is the master of electricity.He talks a lot and as Sparx said in The Eternal Night,"You should listen to Volteer tell one of his stories,that could put anyone to sleep."Boy is that true!!! He and Cyril argue alot and its usally up to Ignitus,the fire guardian,to stop them.
