This Broken Soul is a song that plays during the game credits of The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night. It was composed by Rebecca Kneubuhl and Gabriel Mann, and sung by Rebecca Kneubuhl herself.

Meaning

The song is meant to represent Spyro's relationship with Ignitus.[1] An instrumental version of this song is played in The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon, while Ignitus escorts Spyro and Cynder through the Belt of Fire and into the Burned Lands.

Trivia

  • The "Holy Land" and "Ancient Spirit" mentioned in the lyrics may be referring to the series' equivalent of Heaven and God respectively.
  • A letimotif of the song plays during the cutscene at the end of Celestial Caves, before being quickly replaced by the level's theme again. Oddly, it plays in a part completed unrelated to the dragon elders, Ignitus included, who would be mentioned sometime later in the scene.
  • The song is popular on YouTube. It has spawned many videos, most of them featuring Spyro and Cynder, but it has also found its way in to other themed videos.
