The Whale is an aquatic animal that swims within the lake of the Evening Lake homeworld in Spyro: Year of the Dragon. If Spyro gets too close to it the first time, it will open it's mouth and suck Spyro inside. Inside the belly, Spyro will come to find a Dragon Egg with a baby Dragon called Jonah. If Spyro swims out through it's mouth, the Whale will barf him out. The whale will not swallow Spyro again after this.
In the Spyro Reignited Trilogy, the Whale now wears yellow swim shorts and would open and close its mouth, even after Spyro recovered the Dragon Egg within its belly. Unlike in the original game where inside the belly is the spine, the tongue and mouth, the reignited version has more detail such as teeth, crates, barnacles and even an underwater wall lamp, similar to the ones found outside.
Trivia
