Mana[1] is Spyro and Cynder's breath meter in The Legend of Spyro series. Since the breath abilities are no longer an unlimited source of fire like in previous games, players should try to conserve their remaining mana when possible.
In The Legend of Spyro series, Spyro and Cynder are limited by the amount of green Spirit Gems that they collect. Each time either of them uses a breath attack, the mana meter will go down unless refilled by picking up green gems from defeated enemies or Spirit Gems. This gives Spyro and Cynder a need to either conserve their gems or find more before they can more easily take on the larger foes. As you progress through the game, you'll unlock new breath types to use in your fight against evil.
Trivia
- In Dawn of the Dragon, both Spyro and Cynder will have their different breath abilities unlocked from the beginning.
- In A New Beginning, there are cheat codes for unlimited mana.
- In both A New Beginning and The Eternal Night Prima Strategy Guides[2][3], Mana is named "Breath Energy" in the guides.
