Lava Lizard

Template:Characterbox Lava Lizards are enemies that appear in the Skelos Badlands realm in Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!. They are part of an orb challenge where they will hatch from eggs and attempt to swallow the Bonebuilders, and Spyro must defeat them before they gollop them. The lizard-eggs are brought in by Pterodactyls. The Lava Lizards can be defeated with the fire breath.

Trivia
- On the start screen, one appears chasing a Bonebuilder before banging into the logo saying Spyro 2 and being knocked out.
- A Lava Lizard appears on the European cover for Spyro 2: Gateway to Glimmer.
- Even though they do not appear in Spyro: Year of the Dragon, their egg models that they hatch from appear in Scorch's Pit.
- Their egg model was going to be used in Dino Mines presumably for the Gunfighter Dinos & TNT Dinos to hatch out from. Though the texture for the egg model appears different in the final, the cracked shell fragments also use this object ID seem to use the same left-over texture the aforementioned eggs in Spyro 2 use.
- A beta screenshot of the SCEE review build of Spyro: Year of the Dragon seen in an issue of PS Max further shows that their egg model was originally textured red like in Spyro 2 before settling on a different texture for the egg model.
