Wing Shield
The Wing Shield is a defence move that Spyro can learn in several of the Spyro video games. In Enter the Dragonfly, after gaining the ability from the Dragon Spirit, it is activated by pressing L2 and R2 together after a certain event. In A Hero's Tail, it is activated by Triangle after visiting Elder Titan in Cloudy Domain. The "Wing Shield" is merely a shield made up of Spyro's wings, which he hides behind. Spyro can then move (spin) around in a circle, on the spot, in the same "hiding away" position.

- In Dawn Of The Dragon, Spyro is seen protecting himself with his wings from Cynder when she was corrupted again by Malefor. It's unknown whether or not Spyro ever learned this during his quest.
- In The Eternal Night, Spyro is seen shielding himself with his wings in some cutscenes that is similar to his Wing Shield ability.
Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly
The Wing Shield is only good for repelling certain enemy projectiles and it doesn't work against direct physical attacks. Only one known enemy in the game, the Wizard Riptocs from the Thieves Den, can only be defeated by having their own magic spells turn back at them with Wing Shield.
