Now she thrives to find her own place in the world and help fight against her former master.

Profiles[edit]

“Spyro's main antagonist, a lithe, powerful dragon with a sultry, seductive voice. She is the classic femme fatale: unstable, alternately calm and explosive, she seeks to free the Dark Master from imprisonment.”
The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning website

“As an egg, Cynder was stolen by the Dark Master's forces and born under his influence. The Dark Master's powerful magic transformed Cynder into a monstrous black dragon and she was used as a weapon of destruction. Using all of his energy, Spyro was able to defeat Cynder before she was able to release the Dark Master from his prison in convexity. In doing so, Spyro freed her from the dark magic that had poisoned her, causing her to shrink down in size. It turned out that she too was born in the Year of the Dragon and was the same age as Spyro. No longer a pawn of the Dark Master, Cynder now strives to discover her own destiny and help fight against the Dark Master.”
The Legend of Spyro:The Eternal Night/Dawn of the Dragon website character description

“Previously the servant of the Dark Master, Cynder was rescued by Spyro and lived for a time at the Dragon Temple. Soon into the story, Cynder wonders about her place at the temple and decides to make a go of it on her own, maybe for everyone’s best interests.”
The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night Prima Official Game Guide, page 30

“Once under the control of Malefor, Cynder nearly brought about the end of all dragonkind before being rescued by Spyro. When Spyro fell under the shadow of the Dark Master’s influence in his fight against Gaul the Ape King, it was Cynder that brought Spyro back from the brink of madness. Now she stands wing to wing with Spyro against Malefor’s final assault, hoping to redeem her past and save her future.”

Cynder is one of the playable Skylanders in the Skylanders franchise. Much like her original Legend of Spyro counterpart, Cynder was stolen as an egg by minions of Malefor, the Undead Dragon King. He raised and corrupted Cynder to be a weapon of destruction, terrorizing Skylands until she was defeated by Spyro the Dragon. Freed from Malefor's influence, Cynder seeks to atone for her misdeeds by becoming a Skylander.

In the Skylanders Academy TV continuity, Cynder is a Skylander cadet introduced in Season 2. She is the daughter of the evil Dragon King Malefor and heir to the throne of the Cadaverous Crypts. Instead of following in the footsteps of her villainous family of overlords, Cynder seeks to become a hero instead.
