Manweersmalls are the underground native inhabitants of Munitions Forge in The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning. Their leader is Mole-Yair, and they only appeared in the first two installments of The Legend of Spyro series.

Characteristics

Physical Appearance

Manweersmalls closely resemble moles. They are small, grey and have sharp claws on both their hands and feet. They have large snouts and they can dig very well, however it is possible that they use tools like shovels for digging also. Manweersmalls have good hearing and a sharp sense of smell; however they can't see very well so they wear iron hats with candels on the top for better vision.

Culture

Manweersmalls spend most of their time underground but they will occasionally come out on the surface. This lifestyle abruptly ended when Cynder and her Apes took over Munitions Forge, intending to create more weapons for her army, and imprisoned most of the Manweersmall population to use them as cheap labour. Chained to the ground by mounted Spirit Gems, the Manweersmalls mined for Cynder until Spyro freed them, and when Cynder's rule over the island ended, their lifestyle was restored.

Story

The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning

Spyro's first encounter with the Manweersmalls was within Munitions Forge. There he met Mole-Yair who gave him the task to free the other Manweersmalls in exchange for the location of Exhumor, Mole-Yair's brother, who knew where the Earth Dragon Guardian Terrador was held. The Manweersmalls returned to their underground home after they were freed.

The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night

Mole-Yair and a small group of his folk were captured by the Skavengers, the same group that captured Spyro, Sparx, and Cynder. Since they weren't made for fighting, the Manweersmalls were forced to serve grog to their captors. After the ship was attacked by Gaul's Ape army, Spyro freed Mole-Yair and his comrades who then fled the burning ship back to their homeland.
