Sparx is a yellow dragonfly who is Spyro's foster brother in The Legend of Spyro reboot. In this continuity, Sparx serves as the comic relief, often giving out humorous dialogue and sarcastic remarks. Spyro often serves as the subject of Sparx's jokes, of which Spyro often retaliates. Despite this, he is still willing to help Spyro no matter what happens.

“Sidekick & brother to Spyro, Sparx is more cautious, but will explore with gentle prodding. Sparx's parents discovered Spyro's egg floating down the Silver River and adopted him when his egg hatched before their eyes. Born the same day as Spyro, Sparx grew up alongside his would be brother and the duo has never been apart since. Sparx is a relunctant hero who is practical and worldly; skeptically observant. He uses wit and sarcasm as a mask for his uncertainty and trepidation. Sparx serves as a confidant and comic relief throughout Spyro's adventures.”

“Sparx is the offspring of Spyro's adoptive dragonfly parents. He and Spyro grew up together in the swamp, where they spent many a lazy afternoon playing games of hide-and-seek with each other. Though Sparx gives Spyro a hard time for being so different, he has a strong brotherly bond with Spyro and would do anything for him. The two remain best friends through the good times and the bad. Sparx follows Spyro around throughout his adventures. When bad things happen, Sparx's natural reaction is to crack jokes and make light of the situation. Sparx makes light in other ways as well—the natural glow that shines from his small body brightens up dark places, helping Spyro see what dangers lie ahead.”
