Cheetah (The Legend of Spyro)
Template:Youmay Template:Characterbox Cheetahs are a race of felines who reside in a village within the Valley of Avalar. They made their debut in The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon.
Story
The Cheetahs are a peaceful people that live a quiet life in the wilds of the Realms. They show little interest in the affairs of the larger world and have a fearful distrust of Dragonkind due to the misfortunes caused by Malefor and the corrupted Cynder. Not all cheetahs share the mindset as their village leader, Prowlus, who has a deep distrust towards dragons. They were soon forced into action when Malefor's army threatened their way of life.[1] One cheetah named Hunter attempted to help the Dragons in the war against Malefor before his village got involved. After their encounter with Spyro and Cynder, the cheetahs joined the Dragon race in their fight against Malefor's forces.

Trivia
- According to the mural in the Ruins of Warfang, the Cheetahs worshipped Malefor centuries ago along with the Moles and the rest of Dragonkind.
- All of the cheetahs in The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon have very similar appearances. Though they may be in different colors and hold different weapons, in artwork they all have the same stance and the same eyes.
- One particular plotline in Spyro: Shadow Legacy is similar to Dawn of the Dragon's. In Shadow Legacy, Spyro is thrown in jail after being accused by Kasi of being the cause of the Calamity that brought the Shadow Realm to the Savannah all because he was a purple dragon. Hunter was imprisoned as well for siding with Spyro. Within the reboot of Dawn of the Dragon, Spyro and Cynder were chained by Prowlus for being a purple dragon and the former servant of Malefor respectively. Hunter was chained for bringing in the two dragons, who are part of the race who caused misfortunes to the Cheetah Village.
- The cheetahs are similar to the elves in many forms of literature, as they are an agile race who live solitary lives and mostly wield light weaponry such as bows and arrows.
