Butterfly Jar

Butterfly Jars[citation needed] are glass jars that contain a purple butterfly. They appear as objects throughout the Spyro games, and first appear in Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!. Spyro can break a Butterfly Jar using any attack to free the butterfly. Sparx can eat the butterfly to grant Spyro with an extra life.
In nearly every appearance, Butterfly Jars are transparent and are closed by a yellow lid. An exception to this is Spyro: Season of Ice, in which Butterfly Jars are light blue.
