The Time Crystal was the result of Spyro's Time Fury when the
Mountain of Malefor collapsed in The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night. It had the ability to protect Spyro, Cynder, and Sparx, who where encased inside while debris crashed down around them, freezing them in time. In Dawn of the Dragon, the time crystal was briefly seen, before a Grublin smashed it open, releasing the three individuals from their three-year slumber, and chaining Spyro and Cynder to be sacrificed to the Golem.
