Template:Q Spirit Gems are the gem glusters in The Legend of Spyro series that give out red, green, blue and purple gems. They are the only gems in the entire Legend series that give out every type of gem at once. They can be found basically anywhere, including in huge clumps of grass.
Role
Ignitus stated in A New Beginning that the Spirit Gems are a gift from the ancestors. They are also the life force of all dragons, with the dragon race known to draw strength from these Gems. However, Malefor taught the Apes to artifically harness the power of the Spirit Gems for their evil purposes.
Spyro also stated that when he hit a Spirit Gem cluster, he felt the power of a thousand suns pass through his body.
Abilities
In A New Beginning, the Spirit Gems appear as iridescent gem clusters that give out health, mana, and fury gems. In The Eternal Night and Dawn of the Dragon, they appear as separate types of Gems: red for health, green for mana, and purple for fury.
Trivia
- Further evidence that the Spirit Gems are the dragons' life force is displayed during Spyro and Cynder's final battle against Malefor. As Malefor is taking major damage, he roars in pain and releases gems that recovers the two dragons' health, mana, and fury.
