Wyvern
Wyverns are a type of enemy in The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon, and are part of Malefor's Army. Thay have a dark red body, wings that stretch from the back of their arms to their tail, and three pairs of insect-like legs. They are tricky foes who strafe back in the air, blow shadow rays, and use various strong attacks. 
Their origin is unknown. They may be a type of Dragon, but were altered, Sparx thought they were.
The Wyverns first appeared when Spyro and Cynder were defending the Cheetah Village against the Grublins. After defeating the first wave of Grublins, Sparx caught sight a group of flying creatures heading towards them and recognized them as dragons that they were saved since dragons are on the good side. However, upon close inspection, they weren't dragons at all, but grublin-like dragons as Sparx panicks. Their alignment with the Grublins became clear as villians, when they joined the Grublins on their assault against the cheetahs, and Spyro and Cynder. They later appeared in cutscenes during the battle in Warfang, and are later battled at The Dam, trying to stop Spyro and Cynder from filling the canyon the Destroyer was in with water to slow it down.
