Convexity is the final level in the game The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning. The level just consits of a group of platforms to jump from one to the other and then the games final boss, Cynder. Convexity is also the name of the 5th breath that is either only able to be used in the final level of the game, can be unlocked through out the game or, in The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon is the Fury breath replacing the blast of energy.

After gathering all four of the needed crystals, Cynder has finaly compleated her task of reserecting The Dark Master (AKA Malefor). But before the gate to Convexity opens Spyro comes to stop Cynder. After hearing the voice of Ignitus echo in his head, Spyro gains the energy to perform a fury powerfull enough to free Cynder from The Dark Masters control. Cynder is then reverted back to how she would be if she had not been taken by The Dark Master. Spyro then realises that he needs to save Cynder and take her back to the temple as the gate to Convexity opens and attempts to pull the three of them in.

After charging the last of the needed crystals, Cynder finally completed her task in freeing Malefor. As the portal to Malefor's prison opened, Spyro came to stop Cynder and battled her at the altar in a final showdown. Hearing the voice of Ignitus echo in his head, Spyro gained the energy to perform a powerful fury attack, which incapacitated Cynder and freed her from Malefor's control. Cynder returned to her true form, that of a small dragon the same size as Spyro. The portal to Malefor's prison began to open, pulling everything, including Cynder, towards it. Spyro refused to leave Cynder behind, and he and Sparx escaped from Convexity with the unconscious Cynder in tow.
Convexity is presumed to have been destroyed by the implosion, but Malefor's spirit was able to escape and made his way to the Dragon Realms.

The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night
In the three games, The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning, The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night and The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon, you have been able to play using the Convexity breath. In The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning the breath was only acsessable in the final section of the boss fight with Cynder. It looked like the earth breath but was purple and seemed to raise the fury bar with every blast, even if it wasn't on Cynder. In The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night the breath was acsessable in the second half of the Gaul boss fight but can be unlocked perminently by compleating the 5 Dragon Challenges. This breath also comes with the Dark Spyro skin. In The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon the breath replaced the original Fury and can also be perminently unlocked when all armour pieces from the third set are placed on either Spyro or Cynder. However, this breath does drain the mana bar very quickly.
Convexity appeared again in the prologue of The Eternal Night in the form of Spyro's nightmare. He recalls his battle with Cynder at Convexity's altar and saved her from the portal's implosion. As he was fleeing, Spyro could hear Malefor's voice calling his name. In the same scene, Malefor's spirit entered the Well of Souls, from which Malefor later escaped off-screen at the end of the game.

In the final boss fight of The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon, Malefor has the powers of Convexity breath but very different than any breath that the player can control. These abilitys include Convexity Fire, Convexity Comet Dash, Convexity Bomb and the normal Convexity breath.

Ignitus, The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning

Convexity is the final level in The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning. It is a dimension that consists of an endless iridiscent void, with groups of floating platforms to jump from one to the other. This realm acts as a entryway between Spyro's world and the dark realms that lie beyond. Unnatural creatures reside in Convexity from large alien whales to flying jellyfish. It is also where the Dark Master's prison is kept.

Story

The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning

Convexity appeared again in the prologue of The Eternal Night in the form of Spyro's nightmare. He recalls his battle with Cynder at Convexity's altar and saved her from the portal's implosion. As he was fleeing, Spyro could hear Malefor's voice calling his name. In the same scene, Malefor's spirit entered the Well of Souls, from which Malefor later escaped off-screen at the end of the game.

Trivia

 • A strange, disembodied voice can be heard in this level as Spyro navigates through Convexity, occasionally calling Spyro's name amidst the background ambience. This voice is possibly Malefor's, as the portal that contained his spirit was nearby when the level/battle took place.
 • The altar and the level area of Convexity resembles that of a Quasar, such as many celestial bodies are seen surrounding the alter which sucks everything in it, similar to the Black Hole, and shooting out two beams or colums of some powerful energy (ie:Aether and Star Excess Energy). However, even though similar, the only difference is no disks that make up a galaxy and there are living creatures populating it.
 • Originally a speedway level for Convexity was planned after Spyro's final battle with Cynder, with him carrying an unconscious Cynder to safety while dodging debris and other obstacles that were being pulled by Convexity's implosion.[1]
