The Conductor is an Ape who is a driver to his train engine, Steam, who only appeared in The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning. He, along with Steam, serve as a boss in Munitions Forge. The Conductor may have been the head of Cynder's security in the lava-composed island. He's also one of the few Apes who can talk.

The Conductor is a gold-hairy ape with a brown belt, and wears a Tall Purple Conductor's hat which looks similar to a Drum major hat. He seems to have a purple chest with elbows and his feet as well.

The Conductor is a small and thin, gold-hairy ape wearing an armored kilt secured by a maroon belt, purple wristbands and anklets, and a tall metal hat resembling a drum major hat. His chest, elbows and feet are a purple coloration. His in-game model wears a white polka-dotted red bandanna around his neck, while concept art shows that he lacks a bandanna. He also wields a thin shovel.

Spyro witness the Conductor ordering the other Apes to be on guard, while he brought the caboose containing the elemental crystals to the area where Terrador was held prisoner. Spyro then pursued the Conductor and several Ape Leaders (who just happened to be his passengers) on a rail cart through the railroad tunnels of the volcano in an attempt to stop the train, but was no match for it and was driven off the tracks.
Story
The Conductor was introduced when Spyro and Sparx watched him and several apes board Steam to Terrador's cage. Pursued by them on a train cart through railroad tunnels, they fought until the purple dragon was knocked off the tracks. The Conductor and Steam later confronted Spyro alone as he and Sparx reached Terrador, informing them they were too late to stop the crystal from absorbing the Earth Guardian's power as Boyzitbig neared eruption. They fought again, resulting in Spyro destroying Steam and freeing Terrador.

The Conductor encountered Spyro again atop the volcano where Terrador was kept. He informs Spyro and Sparx that they were a little too late because the crystal was already charged and the volcano of Boyzitbig was getting ready to blow. The Ape then attempted to destroy Spyro using Steam, but was defeated by the purple dragon with Steam exploding, releasing Terrador from his prison.
The Conductor himself is not seen again after this, but it is likely that he either hopped off his destroyed locomotive and escaped or was killed by the eruption of Boyzitbig.

It is unknown what had happened to the Conductor, as he can still be seen on top of Steam after the explosion. However, one can assume that he may have hopped off his destroyed locomotive and escaped just seconds after Terrador's release. Another possibility may be that he died from either the eruption of Boyzitbig or a second and more potent explosion from Steam.
