Species: Monkeys
Home World: Monkey Monastery
First appearance: Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly
Portrayed by: Rob Paulsen[1]

Monkey Monks are the inhabitants of the Monkey Monastery. They are very peaceful and concentrated on meditating. Like traditional Monks, they live in secret, isolated atop a high mountain. When their home was taken over by Riptocs, the Monkey Monks refused to fight since they practiced divine compassion, and instead asked Spyro to help.

For their pastime, they would slide down the mountain with the Penguins or play with the Yetis.

Trivia

  • The monkeys are similar to Agent 9 in character design.
  • When the Monkeys are left alone, they pray with the same chant as the Monks from Colossus from Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage! which are also characters that return in this game.
  • Something that doesn't go with the Monkey Monks' peaceful nature is that they have a turret, although they claimed it was only for their annual snowball war.
