Ripto, a short dinosaur, is one of Spyro's greatest enemies. He wears a cape and uses a scepter to cast magic in battle. He is a persistant enemy of Spyro, appearing in several games. He has two minions, Crush and Gulp, who serve him and carry out his orders.

He was the main villain in both Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage and Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly.

Biography

A Riptoc who hated Dragons, Ripto had enlisted Crush and Gulp at Molten Crater in order to help him wage war on their race, before he was accidentally warped to Avalar by Hunter. Upon arrival, he set about enslaving the worlds, despite the Superportal being shut down by the quick thinking of Zoe and Elora, who scattered the orbs across Avalar.

Ripto's reign brought disaster to Avalar, and he was eventually defeated by Spyro in the second PSone game, who had been summoned in by The Professor from a portal in Glimmer by in literall accident.

Many years later, Ripto succesfully attacked the Dragon Realms, scattering the Dragonflies far and wide. Once again for the second time, he was foiled by Spyro, who is the most "hated by Ripto" Dragon, due to that, he is also foiled by Spyro in other games but not in Legend of Spyro.

He has been seen, along with Gnasty Gnorc, Grendor, the sorceress, and various other villians in a trailer for Spyro: Wings of Majesty.

Trivia:

• Ripto got his name from looking at the title of Spyro in Japanese. Spyro in Japanese looks very similar to Ripto in English, thus, giving the creators a good name for an enemy.
