Strong Chests appear in various realms in Spyro the Dragon and reappeared in other game installments of the Spyro series. Each contains many gems and is virtually impenetrable.

At the time of Spyro the Dragon, Gnasty Gnorc cruelly locked a good portion of the dragon's treasure in these chests just to spite them. He had no intention of reopening these chests, as they are impossible for most creatures to open. Fortunately, Spyro can open them with a supercharge, or by hitting them with sufficient firepower (cannon blast, firecracker, supercharge and the superflame).
