Spyro 2: Season of Flame is a Spyro game released for the Game Boy Advance in 2002, and it is a direct sequel to Spyro: Season of Ice. It was developed by Digital Eclipse and published by Universal Interactive. The game's story is about the Rhynocs kidnapping the Dragon Realms' fireflies, which resulted in the dragons losing their ability to breathe fire. Spyro goes on a journey to rescue the fireflies.
Chronology placement[edit]
Season of Flame is set after the events of Season of Ice. Those games, along with Attack of the Rhynocs, form an alternative narrative following the events of the third title, Year of the Dragon. The game's story is somewhat similar to the one from Enter the Dragonfly; both games were released in autumn 2002 (one for GBA in September, the other for PS2 and Gamecube in November) and feature the villain Ripto stealing dragonflies and fireflies from those titles, although they are not related to each other.
