Game(s): Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly
Home World: Dragon Realms
Inhabitant(s): Thieves
Enemies: Wizard Riptocs
Gems: 700

Thieves Den is the headquarters of the Thieves' Guild in the Dragon Realms. The Thieves of this realm called upon Spyro for assistance when Ripto turned all their gems into monsters and set about using Genies to keep them in order. This is the only level where thieves appear as allies.

Thieves Den is home to the Oasis Speedway with the usual challenges. There is also Wizard’s Platform Maze, which is akin to the Platform Puzzle in Crop Circle Country, although longer and harder. The Wizard Riptocs' projectiles can be wing shielded back at them. That is the only way to kill them. There's a hidden chest with a crystal design on it and it needs a key, and inside the chest is a dragonfly.

Trivia

  • It should be noted that the last three dragonflies' names are references from The Matrix films, two of which are the names of the prominent characters in the film and the other is a unique term used in the films.
  • In an early idea for the game, the den was turned upside down by Riptocs.[1]
  • The Wizard Riptocs in this level make similar noises to the Dinosaurs from Dino Mines in Spyro: Year of the Dragon when hit.
  • This is the only level in the game with one type of enemy as well as no enemies respawning when revisited.
  • After exiting the Oasis Speedway, all the axe pendulums in the chopping block are swinging in sync with each other. When getting to the next platform, they desync.
  • When returning to the level after all the gate switches in the pool are pressed, one of them is always deactivated as this could be a glitch.
  • Jumping extremely close to the pool cleaner whilst swimming will cause Spyro to drown in the pool without swimming abilities. The player will be forced to exit the level or warp to another one via the Atlas.
  • The Exit Portal in the GameCube version is facing backwards with the torches and Thiefy Wu in front of it.
  • The Dragon head entrance to the den was inspired by the Cave of Wonders from the 1992 animated Disney film Aladdin.[2]
