Gear Grinders are an enemy in Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!.
Characteristics[edit]
Gear Grinders are big, muscular enemies appearing only in the Hurricos realm. They have an orange body, wear construction worker clothes, and carry a large monkey wrench.
When Spyro arrives in Hurricos, an Electroll named Zapp tells him that the Gear Grinders have been a recurring problem for the Electrolls, but that they have been divided because the Gear Grinders set up force fields to separate them. Spyro has to collect the diodes scattered around Hurricos, many of which are located near the Gear Grinders, and use each one to deactivate a force field. Whenever Spyro approaches a Gear Grinder, it tries to whack him with its large wrench. As with many large enemies, Spyro can quickly defeat a Gear Grinder using his flame breath.
