Summer Forest is a sunny forested area located in Avalar. It is the first home world in Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!. Summer Forest has a summertime theme, and it features lush scenery, including fully bloomed trees. A large castle is the centerpiece of Summer Forest, and it is surrounded by a moat containing a large body of water that appears to be sourced from a waterfall flowing out of a drain on the castle. There is also a small river flowing through some of the trees.
Objectives
Summer Forest consists of 400 Gems and 4 Orbs. It is also where Hunter provides Spyro with an opportunity to practice his glide and hover abilities. Spyro can learn the Swim ability by paying 500 Gems to Moneybags. This ability allows Spyro to swim underwater, which is essential for accessing certain areas within the castle and acquiring underwater Gems.

Glitch
There is a famous "walk in water" glitch located in this homeworld (as well as many others throughout the entire Spyro series- water-based glitches being the most common due to the interface of the pools of water and the diving mechanisms of the characters). Gliding outside left, from the ledge near Colossus will lead to an unprotected area, and allow one to land inside the water passage without diving.
Other game appearances
Crash Team Rumble
Starting in Season 3, Summer Forest is available as a playable map in Crash Team Rumble. It appears in Party Mode as Competitive Run map called Forest Run.

Trivia
- In Spyro: Season of Ice, there is a homeworld named Summer Fairy Home that also has a summertime theme.
- A game design document for Spyro 2 reveals that Summer Forest was originally called Summer Spring Forest.[1]
- Summer Forest is mentioned in the novel Skylanders: The Machine of Doom, where Spyro was played in at the time of Master Eon's arrival to his world. It is unknown if this Summer Forest is the same one from the original series or a completely revamped version.
- There are a few ways you can fight Crush and move on to the next world without getting all the talismans right after you learn to swim using the double jump glitch. One way is to use the double jump to jump out of the ledge right next to the wall blocking Aquaria Towers, providing you didn't pay Moneybags to lower it already, and fly out of the window leading out of bounds and fly into the chute leading to Crush. Another way is to stand under one of the button-operated doors that lead to Aquaria Towers and Crush and flame the button, so the door closes on you. If you look up with the triangle button, you'll notice an open square where you can use the double jump glitch to jump out of, and fly around and into the chute leading to Crush's Dungeon.
- The theme was remixed during Nancy's ice dancing sidequest in Icy Peak.
- Not counting boundary breaking, this is the only homeworld in the game where Spyro cannot die.
