Spirit particles are white, glowing orb-shaped items found in every realm of Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!.
Whenever Spyro defeats an enemy, their spirit particle is released. By collecting enough spirit particles, Spyro activates a power-up gate in the realm, allowing him to use a power-up in that area temporarily. If Spyro does not have enough spirit particles, the power-up gate displays a number to indicate how many spirit particles it needs to activate. The pause screen shows the total number of collected spirit particles.
