Cheetahs are a race of felines who commonly appeared in the original Spyro series. Hunter was the only notable cheetah who made an appearance throughout the games before other cheetahs were introduced starting in Spyro: Attack of the Rhynocs.

Unlike their bodybuilder counterparts in Attack of the Rhynocs, the Cheetahs in the Savannah live as a tribe and are ruled by a king, keeping their stocks in caves and resting atop makeshift canopies.
