Fear is truely the most intimidating among all natural elements, emotions and extreme tramau allows the dragon to take part of dividing sanity and manipulate actions for prey to do, which stops all neurological activity. A Fear Dragon must be stronger than the inner evil or else the clarity and concentration is corrupted. A pure heart can give access to full control over the trickery of fear. Knowledge also gives lack of understanding of what this element is and was.
The symbol of fear utilizes two different designs. In the console versions, it is Cynder's head colored ruby red. The eyes are squinting, giving others a glare to strike fear into their hearts. However, in the handheld version, it looks like a ruby red skull in a black background.

Cynder developed this from her exposure to the darkness of Aether and thus had a true fear of herself, which her emotions birthed every hint of stentch within the Fear Element. The element was awakened from additional terror from situation with threats and insults. In other words, users like her have embraced their mistakes and given complete acceptence to their own fear.

Trivia

  • Part of the inspiration for Cynder's Fear element originated from the developers looking into various popular fantasy books – such as Dragon Lance. In the book series, dragons give off Dragon Fear, which frightens anyone in the vicinity to near paralysis. There are a lot of really interesting magical abilities that some of the darker dragons have, not just in that series, but in many fantasy books that deal with dragons.[2]
  • Malefor uses the Fear element as his breath weapon during the final phase of his boss fight when he's protected by his Dark Aether shield.
  • According to lead concept artist Jared Pullen, dragons of the Poison, Shadow and Fear elements exist, but the elements themselves come from a different, darker entity instead of the light entity that created the other elements (Fire, Electricity, Ice, Earth and Wind).[3]
