In The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon, the Destroyer was resurrected by Malefor to bring about the end of the world, emerging from the volcano below Malefor's Lair. Malefor announced the resurrection to the citizens of Warfang the night of the Golem's defeat. As it spread the Belt of Fire across the surface of the world, Spyro and the others were having trouble keeping up with the monster. Determining that they would be unable to catch up to the Destroyer, the dragons along with their army set about ambushing it as it neared the end of its journey. At the Dam, Spyro and Cynder opened the floodgates, flooding the canyon with thousands of gallons of water from the sea, which stalled the Destroyer. Once they had successfully stopped it, they flew in and attacked several key dark crystals on and inside its body. Unfortunately, even though the two had destroyed the creature's center crystal, this failed to stop the Destroyer, as Malefor controlled the Golem himself through some dark magic, and it continued onwards. The Destroyer then completed its journey right as Spyro and Cynder confronted Malefor, breaking the world apart.

The Destroyer is a massive ancient golem summoned by Malefor in The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon. It was said to be a legendary creature that would bring about the creation of a new world by destroying the old one. Because of its primary fuction, the Destroyer serves as one of the main antagonists in the game.

Abilities

The Destroyer has the ability to form a wall of fire wherever it walks known as the "Ring of Annihilation". Once it has completed its journey by crossing the Belt of Fire and returned to the volcano from whence it came, the massive golem would spread the Belt of Fire across the surface of the world in a torrent of fire and ash, issuing the planet's destruction: the Great Cleansing.

Story

The Destroyer, which had rested within the volcano beneath Malefor's Lair and the Floating Islands, emerged amidst a gigantic eruption of fire. Malefor announced the creature's resurrection to the citizens of Warfang the night of the Golem's defeat, and the Destroyer began to walk across the world, leaving behind a fiery trail known as the Ring of Annihilation. Determining that they would be unable to catch up to the titan, the Dragons, along with their army, set about ambushing the Destroyer as it neared the end of its journey.

When the Destroyer was crossing a canyon, Spyro and Cynder opened the floodgates at a nearby Dam, filling the canyon with millions of gallons of water from the sea to stall the titan. Once they had successfully stopped it, Spyro and Cynder flew in and attacked several key dark crystals on and inside the Destroyer's body that powered the creature. Unfortunately, even though the two had destroyed the titan's center crystal, this failed to stop the Destroyer as Malefor controlled the creature himself through his dark magic, and it reached the Belt of Fire to continue onwards. Despite Spyro and Cynder's efforts, the Destroyer completed its journey right as they engaged Malefor in battle, initiating the Great Cleansing and fracturing the planet below them.
