A temporary portal is a type of portal that is only in place for a limited amount of time, disappearing once it has been used. It is used to go from one place to another.
The Dragon Elder Tomas had a temporary portal fixed for Spyro to pass from Dragon Shores to the Dragon Dojo, as the walkway through was blocked by the gate in Dragon Village. He made it because Spyro was trapped in the Shadow Realm after the Calamity struck, and connected it therefore to the real world, and because Tomas had been stuck under a long wooden beam when he was building on his house.
