The Shadow Amplifiers were machines that were created by the Sorcerer in Spyro: Shadow Legacy. Their purpose was to pull people into the Shadow Realm and absorb their magic. One Shadow Amplifier was used to unleash the Calamity that imprisoned everyone in the Shadow Realm. When Spyro was freeing the inhabitants of the world, the Sorcerer built a more powerful Shadow Amplifier that would permanently trap them all in the Shadow Realm, but the evil dragon was stopped before he can activate it.
