Summer Forest is a sunny forested area located in Avalar and themed after the summer. It is the first homeworld in Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!. Summer Forest has lush scenery, including fully bloomed trees. A large castle is the centerpiece of Summer Forest, and it is surrounded by a moat containing a large body of water that appears to be sourced from a waterfall flowing out of a drain on the castle. There is also a small river flowing through some of the trees.
Summer Forest consists of 400 Gems and 4 Orbs. It is also where Hunter provides Spyro with an opportunity to practice his glide and hover abilities. Spyro can learn the Swim ability by paying 500 Gems to Moneybags. This ability allows Spyro to swim underwater, which is essential for accessing certain areas within the castle and acquiring underwater Gems.
In Spyro: Season of Ice, there is a homeworld named Summer Fairy Home that also has a summertime theme.
