Mermaid

Mermaids are creatures that appear in Spyro: A Hero's Tail, Spyro: Season of Ice, and Spyro 2: Season of Flame. One of the mermaids is the boss Ineptune. Another one named Lily appears to Spyro, and give him some hints about where to go underwater.

Story

Spyro: Season of Ice

In Spyro: Season of Ice, a host of mermaids (and one merman) appear at the Mermaid Coast, a realm of the Autumn Fairy Home. They find their world plagued with Rhynocs after a handful of Fairies were held captive in frozen crystals throughout the world. They were eventually freed from their torment by Spyro.

Spyro 2: Season of Flame

Two of the mermaids from Season of Ice, Steffi and Queen Stacey, reappear in Watertopia, a realm of the Celestial Plains in Spyro 2: Season of Flame. It is unknown if they relocated to this world or if it is simply another part of the Mermaid Coast. The mermaids find themselves once again under attack by the Rhynocs, this time under the command of Ripto instead of Grendor. Just like in the last game, they are saved by Spyro, who defeats the Rhynocs and recovers the scattered Fireflies that were lost to that world.
