Droids are the robotic citizens of the realm of Metropolis in Avalar. They have taken on the name "droids," presumably a shortening of the word "android," with a modifier specifying their vocation (e.g. Inventor Droid, etc.). They are responsible for creating the first double power-up in Avalar.
At the time of Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!, the Droids were overwhelmed by their livestock, who staged a coup and proceeded to roam Metropolis armed with guns, lasers, rockets and even flying saucers.
